About Leigh Martin Acupuncture

Leigh Martin Acucpuncture brighton UK

Before training to become an acupuncturist, Leigh spent 9 years working in adult social care, during this time she supported adults with learning disabilities and has worked within the homeless sector. She has experience of supporting people with mental health and drug and alcohol related addiction issues.

On developing chronic neck and shoulder pain, Leigh visited her GP, had a number of appointments and was offered strong pain relief and steroid injections. This led her to explore other avenues of treating health and pain management and she started regular acupuncture. During these sessions Leigh realised that acupuncture was far more than pain relief and found that it has the potential to enhance one’s wellbeing both physically and emotionally, as well as being a great way to reduce stress and manage pain.

Leigh is interested in the way the body is affected by the seasons and across time and applies a flexible approach to her practice including: 5 elements, 6 divisions, Stems and Branches and TCM. She also practices regular meditation and Qi Gong.

Leigh is a fully qualified, licensed and insured acupuncturist, holding a BSc (Hons) degree in acupuncture, a thorough training in Western medicine is included. Leigh is a member of the Association of Acupuncture Clinicians and adheres to their codes of Ethics and Safe Practice.
