About Leigh Martin Acupuncture

Leigh Martin Acucpuncture brighton UK

Leigh graduated with a BSc (Hons) degree in acupuncture after 3 years full time study at the International College of Oriental Medicine (ICOM) in East Grinstead, she has been practicing acupuncture since August 2016.

Leigh originally came to study acupuncture after a period of debilitating chronic neck and shoulder pain, this led her to explore different avenues of pain management, as an alternative to strong medication and steroid injections. During this process, she learnt that acupuncture was beneficial for more than pain relief alone and discovered its potential to enhance her own wellbeing both physically and emotionally, as well as being a great way to reduce stress and manage pain. She no longer suffers from chronic pain.

In addition to this, in June 2024 Leigh graduated with a BSc degree in podiatry. This dual skill set has expanded her understanding of the human body and its intricate systems, from both eastern and western viewpoints. She has completed extensive post graduate training in many areas covered by Chinese Medicine.

Leigh continues to be passionate about acupuncture and loves making supportive connections with the people she treats. As well as offering acupuncture, Leigh works 2 days a week as a podiatrist at a Brighton based clinic.

Leigh is a member (no 439) of the Association of Acupuncture Clinicians (AAC). She is also a member of the Royal College of Podiatry (RCoP) (Member 39453) and is registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) (Reg CH037019).

In her previous working life, Leigh worked for many years in adult social care, supporting adults with learning disabilities and has worked within the homeless care sector.

In her spare time, Leigh has an allotment and loves being in nature, she is a keen swimmer and all year-round sea dipper.
